Qualifications

  • Must possess a High School diploma and/or GED
  • Must be well mannered, neat in appearance and posses the ability to meet and deal with the public in an unbiased manner.
  • Prior automotive experience, demonstrated parts knowledge preferred (but not necessary) as well as some retail sales experience.
  • Must possess prior management experience or demonstrate leadership or management potential.
  • Must submit to pre-employment drug testing (November 1, 1994) in accordance with the appropriate state provisions.

Major Responsibilities

  • Must complete all required training manuals/ materials.
  • Must attend all scheduled/ required Company meetings.
  • Must learn and apply basic managerial and leadership skills to assist the management staff in the proper day-to-day operations.
  • Must meet or exceed all assigned sales goals or quotas.
  • Must be able to read and understand the Advance Auto Parts operations manual.
  • Must learn to operate the store in a manner that ensures successful operations in four (4) key result areas: Sales, gross mark up, expenses and profits.
  • Responsible for directing work activities of various designated employees.
  • Must perform assigned store duties, which include, but are not limited to: stocking, cleaning, sales, customer service, cashiering, truck loading/ unloading, inventory management, etc.
  • Must be capable of making decisions in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Responsible for the recruiting and developing personnel for store needs and Company growth.
  • Must be familiar with all categories of merchandise, warranties and Company services offered.
  • Should have working knowledge of battery tester/ charger, electrical tester, and electric impact wrench and computer and catalog skills.
