Job Description

Summary: Distribution Center Maintenance I Technician performs general and preventive maintenance for equipment, machinery, structures and grounds.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

3rd shift Maintenance cleaner:

  • Empty trash
  • Clean restrooms
  • Clean break room
  • Refill consumables (Toilet Paper, paper towels soap and coffee supplies)
  • Empty corrugated in the DC
  • Sweep warehouse pallet aisles
  • Clean corporate office restrooms
  • Clean corporate office break room
  • Occasional equipment battery changes (Training will be given)
  • Wipe down handrails in the DC
  • Clean the facility grounds and parking lot
  • Empty trash on the facility grounds
  • Clean windows
  • Facility dusting
  • Vacuuming
  • Aisle cleaning remove pallets remove debris and trash
  • Change light bulbs
  • Mop restrooms and break room
  • Operate Sweeper/scrubber floor machine in the DC
  • Minor sheet rock repairs and painting

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic understanding of hand, power and shop tools         
  • Must be able to read and interpret Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
  • Ability to follow all Company, State and Federal safety rules and regulations and wear safety personal protective equipment when required
  • General administrative, organizational and communication skills
  • Work various shifts, departments and locations, as required
  • Overtime, weekends and holidays as required. 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; one to two years related experience and/or training; minimum one year of maintenance experience in a distribution center or industrial maintenance preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this position, the Technician is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, and electrical equipment in both high and low voltage/amperage ranges, and occasionally exposed to high places, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasional high.
