Branch Operations Manager

General Duties:

 Manages WORLDPAC Branch assets, including cash, inventory, equipment, supplies and vehicles. Maintains expense controls, including payroll, to achieve profit plan goals. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit. Maintains proper staff required to service the customer in a professional and timely manner and meet goals for outstanding customer service. Confers with customers and department heads to evaluate, promote, and provide improved and expanded services in the area.

Essential Functions:

 Interviews, hires and trains teammates; plans, assigns and directs work; recommends rewards, assists in disciplinary action, addresses complaints, and resolves problems.

Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Develops plans for efficient use of resources (materials, equipment and teammates). Prepares annual operational budget for submission for approval. Responsible for all monies collected from customers as well as petty cash and will call funds.

 Follows operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current. Makes recommendations for improvements to procedures.

Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment, including delivery vehicles. Ensures repairs are made and submits requisitions for replacement of equipment, if needed.

 Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as production, sales, records control, purchasing and human resources.

Supervises branch teammate activities to ensure policies and procedures are being followed. Enforces all safety and security policies and programs for the protection of Branch teammates, assets, and property.

Participates in planning teammate safety, training and building protection activities. Ensures safety procedures are followed and makes recommendations regarding potential safety issues.

 Budgets and manages daily/weekly payroll to achieve stated profit plan goals.

Monitors all expenses to ensure branch is operating within budgeted guidelines.

Holds daily and weekly branch meetings with all teammates in attendance. Provides policy and procedure training, information about company initiatives, current events, promotes safety, promotes teamwork, reviews incentives, etc.

Minimum Years of Related Experience: 3-6 years

Work Experience Required: Previous supervisory experience.

Previous warehouse operations experience with progressive responsibilities in leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse may be substituted for education requirements.

Must meet all applicable state-specific drivers license requirements prior to driving a company vehicle to perform delivery duties.

Skills & Abilities Required: Business management skills required.

Requires demonstrated people management, organizational, and time management skills

Strong interpersonal and written communication skills; able to provide direction and instruction to other teammates.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies, procedures, and work instructions.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Ability to work under deadline pressure and to prioritize work duties.

Preferred Experience or Skills & Abilities

Supervisory experience preferred

Bilingual skills are preferred

Powered lift equipment certification preferred but not required

Education Level: Associates Degree, or equivalent experience

Decision-Making Scope: Frequently makes significant decisions and may contribute to the formulation of policies and standard operating procedures within the standards of the position. Is guided by established policy and procedures or by technical expertise and/or educational training. Only unusual questions or problems are referred to supervisor.

Contacts With Others/Supervision: Required to have frequent interaction with internal and external contacts. Works independently.

Use of Confidential Data: Regularly has access to and utilizes proprietary or confidential data.
