ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Support planning and logistics, including communication plans, for large-scale community relations events that effectively promote the company’s participation while enhancing the corporate image and reputation
  • Review incoming requests for financial contributions and product donations
  • Assist in the management of the community relations annual budget and reporting to executive management
  • Provide monthly reporting packages to leadership to recap events and summarize upcoming commitments and opportunities
  • Manage Team Member participation community events including volunteer events, charitable walks, recognition and award ceremonies, etc.
  • Develop strategies to increase Team Member participation in community relations programs
  • Proactively pitch local/regional media stories
  • Collaborate with social media channel owners and internal communications colleagues to develop engaging content
  • Support other communications projects, as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4+ years of previous experience in a similar role, PR agency experience a plus
  • Experience working with non-profit organizations and/or programs
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to represent the company among a variety of stakeholders
  • Experience working with the news media, including the ability to pitch and secure coverage on a wide variety of topics
  • Basic understanding of social/digital media
  • Excellent writing skills, particularly under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with an ability to plan, prioritize and execute
  • Self-starter able to deliver results
  • Team player who works well among a diverse team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Accurate and detail-oriented

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations or related field from four-year college or university; and
  • 4+ years of combined experience in communications, public relations, community relations, or related role; PR Agency experience preferred
