Advance’s Corporate Marketing team is a strategic and dynamic team helping to
drive Advance’s transformation by establishing the Advance brand as the premier customer-focused omnichannel auto parts retailer. The team will achieve this by bringing together innovative thinking and forward-looking programs in the areas of Advertising, Media, Social Media, Content Marketing, Creative & Design, and Customer Insights in support of Advance Auto Parts and its portfolio of brands (that includes DieHard, Advance Professional, CarQuest, Technet, WorldPAC, AutoParts International, among others).

We are currently seeking a Content Specialist to join our growing Social Media &
Content Marketing team. The Content Specialist will develop concepts and write copy to meet a wide range of content-driven marketing needs. This person will support new initiatives as well as ongoing programs and campaigns. Typical campaigns bring together a mix of advertising; digital, print, and out-of-home media; influencer and partnership marketing efforts; retail and industry event activations; and paid & organic social media campaigns.

The Content Specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop
effective messaging across all stages of the funnel, from driving top-of-mind brand awareness through purchase and loyalty messages, they will contribute to the team that plans, develops, and owns high-quality content and builds the Advance brand as a retailer of choice. This position reports to the Content Strategist and is based in Advance Auto Parts’ Raleigh, NC headquarters, though remote candidates are welcome to apply.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Content Specialist will:
• Support the Creative Strategist and the Social Media team on planning,
populating, and maintaining a comprehensive editorial calendar for the brand.
• Collaborate across the Social Media and Content Marketing team on the
execution of all projects, initiatives, and campaigns.
• Consult with copywriters, creatives, product marketers, and other subject matter experts to ensure messaging is compelling and technically accurate.
• Be responsible for planning and writing / editing a variety of content types, from long- and short-form written copy, to advertising copy, to headlines, subheads, and calls to action (CTAs) for a range of media.
• Leverage customer insights and data analytics to inform and drive content
strategy.
• Write social copy for paid and organic promotion.
• Provide guidance and feedback to external agencies.
• Proactively pitch new concepts and creative plans
• Champion the Advance Auto brand, values, corporate strategy, and culture across all channels. Understand, use, and continuously build Advance brand standards, to include brand voice, tone, and personality.

REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will:
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
• Demonstrate strong writing and verbal communication skills. Have experience
writing for a variety of media including, video content, social media, podcasts,
broadcast and/or editorial content.
• Be familiar with storytelling concepts like teasers, structure & flow, and identifying target audience.
• Be a proven content creator and writer, ideally bringing 3+ years’ experience
working on content creation for brands. Familiarity with video production a plus.
• Stay up to date on best practices in organic content marketing, including SEO,
social media, and other channels.
• Be experienced working across a number of technical platforms, including
enterprise content tools (e.g. Contently), content management systems, and
standard office productivity tools (e.g. Microsoft Office.) A practitioner’s
understanding of the social media landscape (Youtube, Facebook, Instagram,
Twitter etc.) is also important.
• Knowledge of retail and/or the automotive industry is an asset. Ideal candidates have experience working at large companies and on known brands that regularly make significant investments in the areas of advertising and media. Retail experience and/or enthusiasm about the automotive space is a plus. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
