The CRM Marketing Manager is pivotal to the success of Advance Auto Parts by leading the development, implementation and execution of an CRM communication strategy for the B2C or B2B channel. As a key contributor on the Digital Marketing and CRM team, you will develop both retention and trigger based campaigns driving customer engagement and revenue for the enterprise. Successful candidates will have a strong impact on driving financial results, launching innovative marketing campaigns and delivering best-in-class targeted marketing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

           Direct the design, customer segmentation, messaging, analytics and test-and-learn strategies for customer communications.

           Drive strategy, assisting development and execution of customer communication channels that are aligned with overall merchandising strategy and continually working to improve performance metrics and deepen customer relationships.

           Support a strategic customer contact strategy that is focused on key customer segments and designed to enhance customer lifetime value and encourage retention.

           Utilize aggressive testing to maximize campaign performance and isolated campaign-driver effectiveness.

           Serve as a key partner in the development and integration of CRM into marketing capabilities, leveraging data to develop new messaging strategies, foster new ideas, cultivate concepts and create actionable next steps for implementation.

           Continually research and seek out more effective processes to improve overall programs and effectively drive new initiatives successfully and efficiently through to conclusion.

           Work with on-staff operations experts and third-party vendors to identify and troubleshoot problems, and identify and execute against enhancement opportunities.

           Forecast annual goals for revenue and customer response rates, and meet the goals, taking corrective actions as necessary.

           Lead monthly and seasonal analysis and review of all owned email results and programs.

           Responsible for assembly, creation and delivery of campaign briefs, including all specific links and offers necessary for the creative development.

           Manage special email requests for internal clients and coordinate timeline and deliverables.


             Knowledge of best practices for database and email marketing, email distribution, dynamic content, A/B testing methodologies, deliverability, performance metrics, CAN-SPAM laws, list segmentation, and database hygiene.

             Experience leading the development, testing and implementation of automated and event triggered email programs.

             Unique balance of disciplined strategic thinking, creative passion, and a willingness to be hands-on, while being able to stay above the fray to ensure goals are being hit.

             Highly data driven. However, you are comfortable in an environment where objective and subjective measure of success both carry weight.

             Understand CRM systems/strategies and be able to translate this knowledge into solutions that increase our ability to dynamically personalize customer communications.

             Strong technical skills including HTML, in-depth understanding of email and various ESPs, and database marketing infrastructures & technologies.

             Must be proactive, and have the ability to work independently/efficiently and to thrive in a fast paced environment, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

             Strong understanding of Internet-based consumer behavior.

             Excellent communication skills, including demonstrated proficiency in oral, writing and presentation abilities in a business-focused setting.

             Google Analytics and/or other web analytics experience is a plus.

             Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

             Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.


              Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Quantitative field such as economics, finance, statistics, or business. MBA a plus.

             Three to five years experience in email marketing or online communications, international experience/knowledge preferred.


This position will have direct supervisory responsibilities.
