Job Description

SUMMARY:  Professional level sales position that works within a defined geographic territory, building strong relationships with existing heavy duty customers, developing new customers and managing heavy duty sales activities. This role requires a current working knowledge of light, medium and heavy duty vehicles, class 1 through class 8. This role will need the flexibility to support the branch manager with inside sales responsibilities as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with Fleet Solutions Director, Branch Managers and other key personnel to achieve all agreed upon goals for assigned accounts. Visit assigned accounts, making sales calls and developing approaches that best position products, services, or ideas; identify and meet the needs of heavy duty customers. Maintain database of account sales call activity, etc. Proactively communicate with Branch HD Manager on a regular basis to ensure that customer expectations concerning product availability, accuracy, and delivery timelines are realistic and being met. Provide feedback and input to business partners regarding competitive information, merchandising suggestions, and other services to strengthen the market position of the company. Demonstrate an eagerness to be a team player and assist in other functions as assigned by leadership and as needed, including, but not limited to: performing duties of inside sales, operating POS equipment, truck loading/unloading, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified candidates must possess strong computer, verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative team environment and a drive to succeed. Candidates should have a current working knowledge of the heavy duty industry in general and specific aftermarket competitors (NAPA, O Reilly, FleetPride, Truck Pro, etc.). Requires a working knowledge of heavy duty systems, replacement parts sales. Light and medium duty truck knowledge is required. Customer service experience proficiency in the use of technology tools used to manage and develop new and existing customers, including but not limited to computer hardware, CRM programs and software and on-line resources (internet and intranet and telephone systems). Adapts positively to a changing environment. Able to work independently and with minimal supervision with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Basic proficiency in MS Office (Excel and Word, Powerpoint a plus), with strong and accurate data entry skills. Willingness to work cooperatively across all departments to provide Advance Auto Parts, WorldPac and Carquest customers with the best possible experience. Bilingual and ASE parts certification is a plus.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED, plus successful completion of a vocational technical program; and 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must have a valid driver's license.
