SUMMARY This role enables AAP to deliver Supply Chain Innovation (automation, digitization, transformation) that improves productivity and service to our customers.  Responsible for developing, analyzing, planning, and implementing supply chain solutions with the goal of improving service and reducing costs.  Will contribute to 5 year blueprint and phased implementation plan for SC Material Handling Technologies.   Will provide on-going CAPEX support and build capability for 10-15 Distribution Centers.  Responsibilities split between New Technology Innovation, Equipment Life-Cycle Support, Maintenance Team Development and New Facility Start-Ups.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Breadth of responsibility is 10-15 Distribution Centers and $10M of annual capital projects.

• Develops and manages initiatives to drive improvements and move to world class operations within the supply chain.
• Manages relationship with Material Handling Vendors from development through completion of initiatives
• Performs return on investment (ROI) analysis to determine viability and priority of pending supply chain projects. Recommends capital expenditures for acquisition of new equipment.
• Confers and cooperates with all levels of operating management in formulating and developing detailed implementation plans for cost improvement projects.
• Works with all distribution locations and cross functional teams to ensure changes are successfully implemented.
• Assists project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve issues and problems.
• Submits recommendations for development of and compliance with logistics policies, procedures, and programs.
• Works with and supports Distribution Center Maintenance Staffs through both internal & 3rd party preventative maintenance programs
• Conducts field surveys to evaluate operations and recommend changes.
• Works with Distribution facilities and facilities management to define best practices both for operations and to support a safe work environment.
• Prepares recommendations for senior management evaluation.

• In-depth knowledge of distribution equipment and processes.
• Effective communicator and ability to manage through influence.
• Strong team builder in working cross functionally.
• Experience working with Material Handling vendors.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering and 8 years field experience.
• Successfully implemented several $2M + projects within supply chain

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES  No direct reports, but responsible for capability development of maintenance teams across 10-15 DCs
