The Market Availability Canada Demand Planner is a field focused role that has responsibility for monitoring, maintaining and improving market availability for a specific region and group of customers, as well as maintaining the replenishment settings for each customer. They are aligned to regional customers where they develop a depth of customer knowledge and are a key player in the execution of inventory transformation methodologies, New Store Openings, seasonal builds and any other availability related discussions. They are an expert in assortment analytics, and focused on driving sales for our stores and Independent owners as well as improving overall inventory health in each store and advising Independent owners on assortment decisions. They are an advisor on geographical variances of these businesses and they closely partner with the field leadership of assigned, up to and including RVP level, and Independent stores to drive positive business results. They work closely with multiple teams including Real Estate, Transportation, Corporate Support Center (CSC) Operations, Field Operations and Supply Chain to optimize availability in their respective markets, for all customers in their assigned regions.

The Market Availability Canada Demand Planner will manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize in accordance of a rapidly changing environment, as well as continuous improvement and process development for all existing and new processes to support initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Utilize business intelligence related tools and concepts such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, relational database design, and Excel to solve operational problems.
  • Utilize replenishment tools, as well as understand forecasting, demand, and inventory replenishment
  • Identify trends within their business and take action or provide recommendations on over- performing/under-performing products and stores (growth, gaps/coverages, & inventory health).
  • Identify availability tactics with the field leaders and Independent Stores Owners to combat intrusion, implement and measure results.
  • Support the analytics and execution of decisions to drive positive growth.
  • Build dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, Excel or similar to explain/communicate inventory performance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business processes and deliver data so that non-technical resources can understand/respond as needed.
  • Collaborate with teams across the organization including Visual Merchandise, Operations, Real Estate, Supply Chain, and Custom Mix to maximize market mix and product availability.
  • Cultivate frequent internal contacts and communications with the Store Replenishment Analysts, Directors and staff members of various departments, including but not limited to Merchandising, Merchandise Presentations, Marketing, Distribution and Store Operations.

  • Assist/Responsible for training and mentoring new and existing employees in skill development

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Supply Chain, or similar field; and 3-5 years’ experience in Replenishment/Inventory Management, 3-5 years direct retail experience (preferably in automated inventory replenishment, store operations, inventory control, or systems related background), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
