Market Development Manager  

The Market Development Manager (MDM) is responsible for achieving sales plan by growing the Independent Business through New Business.

Key Job Responsibilities are as follows:

  • Driving sales and growth for a specific geography by Prospecting/Hunting new and competitive prospects

  • Gain Commitment of Single- Multi Stores from competitive banner programs

  • Assist customer store changeover process with the Independent Director of sales

  • Assist the Independent Director of sales with Succession Planning

  • Identifying potential new entrepreneurs and gaining commitment from them to join the CARQUEST Store program

  • Assist with new store growth opportunities

 

 

Career Requirements

Key Skills Sets

  • Strong ability to build relationships and a high level of trust with the customer

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or related field 

  • 5+ years’ B2B sales experience
  • 4+ years in leadership sales position

  • Track record of superior performance metrics

  • Excellent negotiation skills

  • Strong decision-making abilities

  • Able to travel up to two weeks per month

  • Familiarity with CRM software
