Position Purpose:

  • To provide outstanding application data for AI,AAP and WorldPac through all distribution channels, by insuring application data for required product lines is accurate, timely, has required coverage and is in publishable condition for export to all trading partners at all times.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Analyze automotive O.E.M., industry and Aftermarket competitive information to create application data to be used in a print or in a web application parts look-up catalog for Parent company, corporate Branch Stores, North American Sales Division and wholesale clients based on part type, make, model,  year and aftermarket need.
  • Organize data into most appropriate application listing based on ease of lookup
  • Enter and maintain all application data in catalog system, mapping to industry standards to create application data exports for internal and external trading partners’ electronic catalogs and to create print catalog .pdfs which include application listings, buyers’ guides and interchanges.
  • Collaborate with Senior Product Line Researcher and Director of Parts Information for scope of product line updates and resources
  • Synchronize work, schedule tasks, communicate progress, and perform quality assurance to meet catalog production deadlines and insure that data is publishable at all times.
  • Coordinate creation of any new part numbers with proper description, reporting codes and relevant cross references into enterprise system.
  • Research any incoming application issues from the field and bring to resolution
  • Research and add application data for new items created from field or product management requests at the time the item is created for assigned product lines
  • Review all new items being purchased for ease of lookup and that all available appropriate crosses are in AI systems for that product


Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of direct working experience within the O.E. and/or Aftermarket automotive industry, more specifically dealing with auto parts and/or auto parts counter experience regarding paper and electronic parts catalog look up
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Proficient with software applications such as Windows Office – Word, Excel, & Outlook, Access & PowerPoint a plus
  • Experience with JD Edwards Enterprise One and an electronic catalog system is a plus
  • Knowledge of AAIA and/or ACES industry catalog standards is preferred, but not required
  • ASE Certification is a plus, particularly an ASE Certified Parts Specialist
