As a Manager of Paid Search you’ll be a leader on one of the fastest growing teams at Advance Auto Parts. The role requires a high Business IQ as well as demonstrated communication and analytical skills.


Responsible for establishing, growing and nurturing our Pay Per Click (PPC) programs by working directly with the search engines and our search partners to ensure consistent and profitable growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Grow the profit associated with the SEM program through superior campaign management and project management.
  • Support Search Engine Marketing through analysis, optimization, creative development, competitive research and new keyword acquisition.
  • Manage PPC budget and maximize ROAS across all available channels.
  • Build annual business plans for the SEM program.
  • Manage SEM analysts as needed.
  • Manage relationships with search engines and search marketing partners.
  • Manage relationships with internal teams to align advertising to promotional calendar.
  • Build out local search campaigns that drive traffic to retail locations
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices.
  • Conceptualize and initiate tests (keyword bids, ad copy, and landing pages) in order to continually improve key metrics (click-through, call to action, convert) across campaigns.
  • Make recommendations on keyword selection and prioritize expansion efforts.
  • Investigate and implement new technologies, services, automation capabilities, and/or vendor solutions that enhance SEM.
  • Act as the Search Engine Marketing point of contact on technical development.
  • Protect the brand through trademark monitoring and policing.

Demonstrable history in strong applied analytics as a foundation for decision making - a love of data, gleaning insights from data, and making decisions based on data.

Ability to work on multiple things at once while staying focused on the details.


Bachelor degree, MBA Preferred

Minimum 5+ years of business experience.

Two to four years of search engine marketing experience preferred. Online retail experience is a plus.


Manage Assistant Digital Marketing Manager or Digital Marketing Associate(s) as needed.
