SUMMARY:

The Senior Manager, Tax will manage the execution of the Company’s tax strategy and provide oversight to effectively manage off-shore tax resources. Responsibilities include implementing a tax strategy to minimize the Company’s effective tax rate. The Senior Manager, Tax will also work to ensure alignment of external, off-shore and internal tax resources with business requirements, integrate acquisitions and prepare the Company’s tax provision, financial statement reporting and disclosures and related compliance efforts.

 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include, but are not limited to the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Implement and manage global tax strategies, policies and procedures to ensure alignment with business needs and compliance with local and federal laws.
  • Oversee the execution of specific strategies for new business activities, including opening and closing stores and legal entities.
  • Constantly evaluate the need for improved systems or processes to streamline tax activities and meet deliverables more effectively.
  • Work with external resources to prepare period end, quarterly and yearly analyses for the ASC 740 provision calculations for each legal entity.
  • Manage the filing of Transfer Pricing reports with internal and external providers, including providing statutory filing projections and understanding differences between local GAAP of a country and US GAAP.
  • Manage property, sales and income tax audits, records and analytical reports to ensure compliance with local laws and company policies.
  • Work with external accounting firms, lawyers and consultants in the completion of the Company’s reporting obligations.
  • Ensure practices are in place to prepare and maintain schedules and supporting documentation needed for management, internal and external reporting, internal and external auditors and SOX requirements.
  • Perform quarterly reviews/year-end audits with internal, external and regulatory auditors.
  • Oversee and assist with the implementation of new accounting standards.
  • Develop standards for coordinating work with off-shore and outsourced resources.

  • Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, and ERP skills.

  • Must be able to analyze data, draw conclusions, interpret results, and make recommendations with respect to incentive calculations.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in both an oral and written manner to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
  • Must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to top management, external department heads, customers, clients and other employees.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; and
  • Certified Public Accountant license preferred; and
  • 9-11 years related experience; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serves as the manager of the department.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities may include training, planning, assigning/directing work and resolving problems.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS


Certified Public Accountant license preferred.
