Our Salesforce Team is responsible for building solutions that make it easier for our Professional and DIY customers to do business with AAP. We ride along with them on their entire customer journey from Awareness to Advocacy and every pit stop in between.

The Sr. Manager leads a talented development Team that works with Product Managers, Business Stakeholders, Strategic Vendor Partners, and Leadership to build and enhance our multiple Salesforce instances/orgs/business units. This position will have a focus on enabling Marketing Automation across the Enterprise by leveraging the Salesforce Marketing Cloud. In addition, key SFMC integrations will expose this position to Salesforce’s Sales, Service, Experience, Integration (MuleSoft) and Commerce Clouds.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following.  Other duties may be assigned

  • Lead and manage comprehensive marketing automation strategies to achieve the business goals of the company
  • Lead and drive the architecture, roadmap definition and implementation of SFMC and marketing automation initiatives
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand and articulate business priorities and strategies, and translate them into enablement roadmaps, initiatives and designs that can be effectively realized within given time, technical and business constraints
  • Lead a development team to build out solutions that deliver business value
  • Manage vendor relationships
  • Responsible for overall tracking and forecasting budget as it relates to all areas of responsibility
  • Build and test workflows to achieve defined automation objectives
  • Understand current and identify future execution capabilities and bring clear focus on process improvement opportunities and best practices
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate deployment as well as continuously optimizing processes and tasks etc. to maximize campaigns
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Ensure new and enhanced Salesforce features, functions and capabilities are prioritized and applied to maximize business value
  • Advise and engage on the development and delivery of Salesforce features from inception through production implementation
  • Ensure Salesforce development teams follow best practices when architecting, programming or documenting solutions
  • Stay up to date on the latest technology trends in requirements gathering, analysis and documentation and stay informed on the latest technology trends in the industry

  • 5+ years with marketing automation/campaign management
  • 3+ years of experience with SFMC, including Email Studio, Mobile Studio, and Journey Builder
  • SFMC Integration experience using both Web based technologies (SOAP, REST) and Integration/Middleware tools such as MuleSoft
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Experience using Agile methods to deliver software solutions
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence will be a plus
  • Fast learner with the ability to pick up on systems, capabilities and goals in a short timeframe
  • Expert level of technical competency with Salesforce marketing automation platforms, including both administration and set-up.
  • Strategic-thinking and execution delivery
  • High energy and solid work ethic, with motivational and leadership qualities


  • Understanding of the Salesforce product suite outside of SFMC including Sales, Service, Experience/Communities, as well as the Platform
  • Experience working in a multichannel retail environment
  • Consulting and/or agency experience 


  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience with SFMC


  • Marketing Cloud Adminstrator (Required)
  • Marketing Cloud Email Specialist (Preferred)
  • Marketing Cloud Consultant (Nice to Have)
  • Marketing Cloud Developer (Nice to Have)
