Manager, Distribution Center Operations is responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining and improving the operational functions of the Distribution Center while achieving effective and efficient service to all branches with a focus on quality, productivity, safety and loss prevention.

 

  • Models positive leadership and teamwork by seeking out opportunities to maintain and enhance morale during normal and adverse conditions.
  • Manages the operational budget to meet the planned budget for the fiscal year and improves financial performance and reduces cost through analysis of procedures and utilization of personnel.
  • Consults and coordinates activities between Distribution Center Operations, and the Safety, Human Resources and Finance departments.
  • Organizes schedules and directs the intense demands of the Distribution Center and the branches it serves.
  • Seeks out and implements operational improvements.
  • Develops manpower planning, recruitment, staffing and succession planning of exempt/nonexempt associates.
  • Interfaces with the management team and VP of Distribution Center East/West to ensure that goals are achieved in all areas of the operation.
  • Contributes and supports all Company sponsored programs and initiatives.
  • Improves policies and procedures throughout the DC, including enforcing all safety, environmental and Human Resources rules and policies.
  • Evaluates procedures and methodologies to improve efficiency and establish productivity standards. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and the quality of product and service.
  • Plans for safety training and personnel training for the building protection activities.
  • Adapts readily to a changing environment consistent with business needs.
  • Continues to seek greater knowledge and improve skills level to prepare for greater responsibility within the Company.

Successful candidates will have experience managing multiple levels of management, be productivity and accuracy driven with outstanding team building skills and a track record of excellence in safety and safety improvement programs.
