Job Description

Schedule – 40 hours a week, Monday – Friday // May 23 – July 29, 2021

The EHS & Risk Analytics Intern works with EHS & Risk systems and data to implement analytics/reporting for EHS & Risk programs, to ensure a positive, safe, healthy, and incident-free work environment. 

This position will be responsible for business analytics, quantitative analytics and scorecard/report generation to support our EHS programs. This position will also have responsibility for visualization of our data and building interactive and static scorecards. This position will report our EHS & Risk Data Analytics Manager with a dotted line to our EHS Director for Programs & Professional. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Ensures the accurate creation and timely distribution of various reports such as; injury reports, metric reports, scorecards, insurance claim financial reports, and environmental reports. 
  • Ensures proper data visualization of various data, as well as create or enhance current visualizations 
  • Work primarily in Excel and Power BI, with the ability to work in various external data systems (Intelex/Riskonnect) 
  • Assist EHS & Risk Data Analytics Manager with data lake / data cloud strategy for EHS, Risk, and Sustainability working with other data analytics, data governance, and IT functions 
  • Work closely with the EHS and Risk team in providing data and reports that will aid in the identification of loss control and compliance needs across AAP 
  • Assist EHS & Risk Managers with reporting exceptions and administration 
  • Assist in administrative analytics & data problem solving, data system programs, development of new analytics/reporting, and execution of stated goals and objectives 
  • Assist EHS & Risk Data Analytics Manager with managing 3rd party audit programs, and reviewing data accordingly 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Detail oriented, data analytics experience 
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, strong Power BI skills, strong MS Office 365 skills 
  • Statistical analysis as well as outstanding verbal and written communication skills 
  • Experience with data visual tools like Tableau and PowerBI required 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

  • Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in business analytics/management 
  • Preferred course work or concentration in data analytics, risk/insurance management, supply chain/operations, or safety compliance
