Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Receives and checks incoming product. Stocks or re-stocks shelves with product received. Performs delivery service to customer base. Delivery service may be on demand, a delivery route or a scheduled shuttle from point A to point B. Performs inventory control functions as directed by manager. Assists in maintaining clean and orderly working environment both in store and in delivery vehicles. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

-Uses company vehicle to deliver parts and equipment to customers in a safe and courteous manner. 

-Performs all delivery duties using safe driving habits, including defensive driving skills. 

-Cleans and maintains store and parts storage area in safe and orderly condition. 

-Performs routine maintenance checks on company vehicle. 

-Keeps delivery vehicles clean and washed. 

-Observes company work and safety rules in the performance of all duties. 

-Checks in product received and notes shipping discrepancies. 

-Stocks shelves with incoming product. 

-Maintains store retail display area, including pricing, fronting shelves, and building displays. 

-Attends store meetings as scheduled by store manager. 

-Participates in available training opportunities as discussed with store manager. 

-Picks up returns at customer's place of business. 

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

-Greets customers within 20 feet or 20 seconds of entering the store

-Answers customer phone calls and serves in-store customers through use of electronic and paper cataloging system to identify, source and invoice needed parts.

EDUCATION:

-A High School Diploma/GED

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS

Must be 19 years of age with a valid driving license and a good driving record (abstract required)

Must meet all applicable provincial-specific drivers license requirements prior to driving a company vehicle to perform delivery duties.

SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED

Able to learn and demonstrate good customer service skills

Must maintain a good driving record and demonstrate ability to perform the requirements of the job in a safe and efficient manner

Learn to use point of sale and electronic cataloging systems

Able to understand cataloging index systems and able to read manufacturing automotive components paper cataloging system

General knowledge of automotive aftermarket functions and purposes

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will predominantly be walking or standing. The employee is required to be able to talk and hear, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is usually working inside; however, they will occasionally be outside and exposed to various weather conditions while performing such tasks as installing batteries and wiper blades. The employee is also occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; explosives; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
