Job Description

The Senior Director of DIY Omni Channel Strategy is responsible for developing a DIY / Omni Channel Customer Centric Strategy that positions Advance for long term growth and share gain.  They are responsible for developing and testing new programs, platforms, and operating models ensuring they are rooted in consumer insight and research.  They will partner with many departments including Store Operations for execution and Merchandising and Marketing on front room assortment tests related to seasonal and regional opportunities.  This role will have responsibility to grow talent and lead a small team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop a Strategic Business Plan for the DIY Omni Channel business that informs the Advance Annual Operating Plan including strategic planning, competitive analysis, industry trend identification and initiative prioritization.
  • Develop and test new operating models for customer experience and service, support new DIY models and enterprise innovation.
  • Develop and implement test / pilot programs for the company.  Transition implementation at scale effectively to execution partners.
  • Partner with the Category Executive VPs and Product Solutions Directors on front room seasonal and regional test approaches.
  • Lead Executive Forum, DIY Omnichannel Steering Committee, with the Executive Team to ensure all DIY Strategic Initiatives are visible, escalating risks and decisions as appropriate and communicating key status.
  • Lead DIY Quarterly Business Review and DIY AOP Planning with Cross Functional Stakeholders
  • Partner with Analytics and Finance team to monitor performance and expectations of key programs.
  • Manage a CAPEX and OPEX budget to support development and testing of new programs.
  • Leverage Corporate Strategy Insights to develop appropriate program and process in stores and online to serve new business opportunities e.g. Electric Vehicles
  • Develop appropriate partnerships for key programs and / or Services e.g. Battery Delivery and Installation
  • Partners with Corporate Strategy team to ensure enterprise capacity and resources are leveraged properly to achieve goals including change management
  • Develop and support implementation for incremental Consumer Experience Improvements, partnering with the Digital Team and owning the Physical Customer Experience Improvements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or another related field
  • 12+ years’ experience in multi-unit retail management or business strategy
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
