Job Description

SUMMARY

This role will report into the Strategy team and will be responsible for a) developing and implementing profit-driving strategies for the entire enterprise, and b) leading business valuation, modeling, and providing support for Corporate Development activities. This is a high visibility role, with frequent exposure to multiple C-Suite executives across the enterprise, including the CEO.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy development:

  • Use problem solving skillset to develop business insights and drive action across the organization, using an ability to frame ambiguous problems, create both quantitative and qualitative analysis to support the case, and drive to specific recommendations for action
  • Communicate openly and clearly with stakeholders across the company to understand ingoing perspectives, communicate findings in both verbal and written form, and persuade others to take action
  • Develop and manage relationships with cross-functional stakeholders to drive execution of AAP’s top strategic initiatives
  • Be willing to adapt your work in an agile / flexible way to priorities as they change and emerge

Corporate development:

  • Lead financial modeling and valuation for inorganic initiatives, with a particular focus on M&A, licensing, and partnerships. Includes building and maintaining appropriate analysis and tools to support corporate strategy with information on an ongoing basis (e.g., market sizing model, competitive analytics
  • Have experience with M&A transactions and a willingness to support deal execution end-to-end, including managing internal stakeholders and external support partners throughout the entire process

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Strong business problem solving skillset, including exceptional hands-on data analytics / Excel modeling skills and qualitative analyses skills
  • Written and verbal communication to drive action and insight
  • Experience in business and initiative valuation and financial modeling, including experience with discounted cash flows, comparables valuation, and precedent transactions analyses
  • Prior corporate transactions experience (e.g., strategic partnership, licensing, M&A)
  • Strong capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to develop and maintain cross-functional relationships to drive influence
  • Positive, flexible and team-oriented approach; Accountability and result-oriented mindset
  • Ability to work independently and ensure high quality, executive-level deliverables under all circumstances
  • Prior experience with Capital IQ strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of retail and / or Automotive industry is a plus

EDUCATION

Bachelor in Business, Economics, Finance, or other relevant fields.
