POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Manager Customer Pricing Insights is responsible for developing, anlayzing, interpreting insights around the intersection of customers and prcing. The individual in this role will be responsible for this work across both DIY and DIFM segments as well as channels (online and instore). He/She will also be responsible for ensuring that all cross functional staekholders are appropriately involved / informed around the work. To be successful, the individual in this role will be able to build and leverage cross functional partnerships within Advance Auto Parts across various functions Marketing, Merchandising, Finance and Store Ops. This person will have the credibility and ability to influence and drive sustainable change to make pricing a customer and grwoth focused discipline. And to be successful in doing so, is expected to blend the contextual knowledge of Advance Auto Parts needs with the knowledge customer analytics and pricing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • The Customer pricing insights Senior Manager will develop and own customer insights capabilities (both quantitative analysis as well as research driven) within AAP to support the pricing actions across DIY and DIFM channels.
  • Partner with key team members across functions for example in Marketing, Merchandising, or Store Ops in translating pricing needs into analysis plans, so that the customer is at the center of decision making.
  • Develop and share learning plans, project plans (including design, survey, analytical plans), and research output with other teams that undertake customer insights work.
  • Exercise a great deal of autonomy in customer insights problem solving and work delegation for the fulfillment of the work necessary. Own the output and ensure it is of high quality, free from errors and that findings/output are grounded in data science but communicated in a way that is simple and highly actionable for pricing and other associated actions.
  • Understand customer insights analytics and technology trends and new methodologies and apply them to pricing plans to drive better decisions and success.
  • Develop new approaches and recommends improvements to improve insights generation and pricing / business impact.
  • Design, execute, and summarize analysis, taking insights, analytics, customer frameworks, and models to drive impact and action behind those insights.
  • Use advanced statistics for in-depth data analysis and customer models and link them to pricing analytics to drive decisions and actions.
  • Integrates insights from multiple projects into more strategic insights to grow the AAP’s business.
  • Shares customer pricing recommendations with VPs, SVPs and EVPs to create strategic analyses, board recommendations, and CEO/ELT recommendations.
  • Appropriately manages the work assignments of analysts and senior analysts on team, coaching them as appropriate.
  • Partners with suppliers to bring in best-in-class analytical and research techniques.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software is required

Strong data and analysis background to navigate different data sources

Strong analytical skills with the ability to stitch topgether the insights from disparate data sources both internal and external

Strong strategic / innovative thinker

Ability to problem solve complex scenarios; operate in a complex, rapidly changing environment while adhering to tight schedules and budgets

Demonstrated ability to balance multiple projects in varying degrees of implementation

Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders across functions in order to achieve business objectives and drive strategic change; proven track record of establishing strong relationships with the field sales and operations and experience in leading complex cross-functional teams

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Management, Marketing, Finance, Communications, Statistics, or related field (Masters degree perferred; and 8-10 years business experience and related project management experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
