We are always looking for ways to better our strategies and broaden our horizons; which is why we are excited to offer an opportunity for a Summer 2020 Treasury and Investor Relations Internship at our Raleigh campus. Advance Auto Parts is more than your local auto parts store. We are a Fortune 500 company with nearly 5,000 company owned stores and branches and over 1,200 independently owned stores. This paid internship is more than a job shadow opportunity, but a chance to get involved, contribute and provide a meaningful, professional hands-on experience. Ideal candidates will combine technical and business knowledge with analytical strength and creative problem-solving abilities. The position will support a series of projects involving financial analysis, reporting, transaction execution and research.    


Treasury Operations:

  • Assist in the daily cash management process, including cash positioning, daily reconciliation and investment decision making.
  • Support Kyriba treasury management software reporting and database development.
  • Build cash forecasting model intelligence and conduct variance analysis.
  • Leverage Bloomberg to monitor counterparty risk and for decision making analysis.
  • Participate in corporate banking, investment management and supply chain onsite meetings.
  • Develop and implement projects focused on continuous improvement of Treasury processes.

Investor Relations:

  • Assist in monitoring competitor financial results and other market trends
  • Track and analyze financial models of sell side analysts to understand investment community expectations
  • Track shareholder activities to identify trends in stock ownership
  • Assist in developing earnings materials
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Current students pursuing a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Rising Junior or Senior at the time of the internship program
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Bloomberg experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across different teams and functions
  • Well-developed organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Proactive approach to assignments with the ability to work independently
