Responsible for the execution of the category management plans. Work with team on developing/executing in-store promotions. Provide custom analyses to understand business trends and support company initiatives. Analyze customer specific, market and consumer data in order to make business building recommendations and develop high quality supporting presentations. Develop expertise on competitive manufacturers, local consumer insights, regional differences and key customers. Participate in implementation of selling concepts and tools to support category projects. High level individual contributor.

Job Description

The core role for merchandising is over Battery Accessories.  The Team Member is responsible for the category sales, margin and inventory health through the execution of the category management and promotional plans and through collaboration with cross functional partners. Accomplishments are measured in accordance with the corporately established guidelines of sales, margins, inventory levels, order fill, budgeting, communications, planning and execution, and Gross Margin Return on Investment. 


  • Utilize a category management approach to developing efficient assortments that will maximize sales growth and GMROI performance.
  • Analyze sales & category trends.
  • Monitor supplier performance and take corrective action with high sense of urgency
  • Drive inventory turns through effective vendor negotiations for callbacks and product life cycle management
  • Partner with internal partners to ensure the successful development and launch of category plans, ensuring that product and services will be executed flawlessly.
  • Develop a first-to-market approach by developing unique and aggressive items/offerings and negotiate lowest total costs of new and existing programs pricing and/or additional funding for same.
  • Collaborate with internal partners including: Pricing, Marketing, Inventory, Independents, Accounting, Communications
  • Support Tier 1 initiatives and Control Tower projects
  • Must be willing to work in a team environment to support overall business objectives. Additional job functions, responsibilities and projects may be assigned.
  • Partner with vendors on the development and launch of new programs.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Undergraduate degree in Business Administration preferred or equivalent work experience

3+ years of experience in Microsoft Excel

3-5 minimum years of experience in Vendor Relations, Negotiations, Financial Literacy/Pricing, Category Management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
