Position Purpose:

Primarily responsible for helping supervise an individual location which sources, stocks, sells, and delivers auto parts to local installers and other potential sellers of auto parts. Assist the store manager with meeting the stores sales and GP goals.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strive to exceed store sales and GP expectations
  • Maximize sales potential through identifying new ways to drive sales
  • Ensure that service standards are high and that complaints are quickly resolved
  • Responsible for motivating, hiring and retaining of store team members
  • Continually train and coach store personnel thru both positive reinforcement and constructive criticism
  • Responsible for Supervision of drivers, including writing and delivering performance appraisals and ensuring weekly Driver Safety Meetings take place.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels through ordering, returns and proper analysis
  • Ensure timely deliveries thru dispatching and use of two way radios
  • Make sure customers are receiving credit copies of returns
  • Make sure all vendor returns are done correctly and returned properly
  • Ensure inventory integrity and minimize shrinkage
  • Get daily paperwork to office in a timely manner
  • Assist corporate departments with any questions or concerns they may have
  • Set both long term as well as short term goals for the store and employees.
  • Constantly keep vehicles in good shape and promote safety to all drivers
  • Maintain cataloging integrity
  • Complete end of month procedures
  • Conducts weekly meetings with drivers.
  • Constantly communicate with team members and encourage smooth communication flow between all employees and company departments
  • Openly support and enforce all company policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Learn the manager’s position in order to be able to cover in his absence and to allow personal growth

    Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the automotive industry, or a comparable combination of training, education and experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years old, licensed for at least 3 years; and have an acceptable driving record
  • Managerial skills, including the experience in, and ability to, coach, motivate, and develop employees.
  • Ambitious, results driven, highly energetic, goal-oriented, and self- motivated
  • A team player with the ability to work, and succeed, in a multi-task and fast paced environment.

Position

You will serve in a full time capacity as Assistant Store Manager, reporting to the Store Manager.

Start Date

Your start date is tentatively scheduled for TBD.  Please confirm this date with your manager.

Compensation

You will be paid an hourly wage of $0.00 per hour which entitles you to receive premium pay (1.5x your hourly rate) for all hours worked over 40 in a work week.  Over the course of a two week period you will be required to work an average of 52 hours per week. You will be paid in accordance with Autopart International’s standard payroll practices for hourly employees. 

You will also be eligible to participate in the Store Incentive Plan for Assistant Managers.  The Plan rewards you for store Sales and Controllable Profit growth.  In order to be eligible for a Bonus Plan and payout, you need to be in that position with all the responsibilities that the position holds for the entire bonus period and be in that position at the time of bonus payouts.  Details of the plan will be provided to you under separate cover.

You will begin to immediately accrue vacation at a rate of 1 week of vacation per year.

Introductory Period

As a new employee you are subject to a 90 day introductory period.  During this time, position specific training will be scheduled, performance goals will be set, and you will be able to get acclimated to the organization.   During this time both you and Autopart International will determine whether you, the position, and the organization are a match.
