The Associate Manager, Email Technology will hold a crucial role in ensuring the timely and accurate deployment of email campaigns to deliver on the strategies as defined by the Email Marketing Managers (both B2C and B2B) and the Email Technical Manager.  The position is critical to the day-to-day operations of the CRM/Email Marketing team at Advance Auto Parts and its role in driving incremental sales for the company. Successful candidates will thrive in an agile environment, speak up to share ideas and enjoy documenting clear vision, goals and stories.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Execute the day-to-day email operations to ensure accuracy and timeliness of our email campaigns
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate deployment as well as continuously optimizing processes and tasks etc. to maximize campaigns.
  • Be a clear, consistent source of trustworthy information; facilitate discussion, transparency and good decision-making
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to manage the work assigned with little guidance
  • Must be a team player with a good collaboration background
  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Fast learner with the ability to pick up on systems, capabilities and goals in a short timeframe
  • Works independently as appropriate but always communicates and coordinates as part of a team
  • Great communication skills in effectively communicating with both technical and business roles
  • Skills required in documenting detailed requirements, process flows and data flows
  • Decomposes and documents high-level business requirements into functional and quality requirements
  • Drives effective requirement gathering practices
  • Leads requirements verification, ensuring that requirements are well defined and can be individually verified during testing.
  • Owns communication and clarity between business goals, requirements and the solution pros/ cons and limitations
  • Documentation and communication of risks, gaps, dependencies and issues
  • Complete deployment activities including but not limited to, email campaign set-up, scheduling, testing, and deployment of one-time, recurring, and triggered emails inside Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Exact Target)

  • 2-4 years of experience in email production and deployment
  • Technical expertise in Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Exact Target)
  • Proven ability to be proactive and take responsibility for tasks and work assigned as well as attention to detail to ensure quality of work
  • Good communication skills necessary to collaborate with team members and stakeholders
  • Experience in creating requirements for project scope
  • Experience in learning, translating, deriving business needs
  • Experience with project management tools (Jira) for managing a backlog of scope and requirements
  • High energy and solid work ethic, with motivational and leadership qualities


  • Knowledge of and experience in coding with HMTL/CSS
  • Knowledge of and experience in SQL
  • Experience working in a multichannel retail environment
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist Certification


  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience
  • At least 3-5 years of Email technology experience
  • At least 2 years’ experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud
