Job Description


The Claim Analyst supports the Risk Services Department by performing essential tasks in the processing and management of auto physical damage, auto bodily injury, general liability, product liability, property and cargo claims; conducting data analysis; and, identifying and advancing process improvements. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Claim Management (75%)
    • Work closely with and direct claims handling of third party administrators (TPAs) and vendors.  Provide claims support and facilitation for both litigated and non-litigated claims.
    • Conduct in-house research and retrieve evidentiary material.  Obtain and compile documents as needed for claims processing and/or in accordance with litigation discovery and other legal requests.
    • Within granted authority, approve action plans and financial authority with TPAs and outside defense attorneys.
    • Serve as point of contact for internal business partners and claim inquiries.  Act as the primary liaison between TPAs and internal business partners. 
    • Maintain and manage a diary system to supervise and direct pending claims.
  • Analytics (10%)
    • Collect and analyze data; identify trends.
    • Develop and generate reports, both recurring and ad hoc. 
    • Assist with insurance renewal processes and manage information and data requests to other functions / departments.
  • Process Leadership / Project Management (15%)
    • Develop and document claim procedures; continuously update in-house resources.
    • Contribute to the design and implementation key processes (new or improved).
    • Partner effectively with internal and external business partners.  Lead and support change management initiatives.

Education / Experience

  • 3+ years’ claims experience - insurance carrier claims, TPA, corporate claims department or legal entity.   
  • High school diploma required, Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred. 
  • CPCU, AIC, ARM, SCLA designations preferred, not required.
