ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Leads the team that collects open receivable balances while maintaining appropriate transaction/account notes.
  • Responsible for resolving disputed/claims and unapplied items on the customers¿ accounts, placing accounts on/off Hold, placing accounts with 3rd party collections and bad debt, approving and creating payment plans.
  • Create new business practices by working collaboratively with internal customers.
  • Monitors work of collections team to ensure accounts are being contacted to drive cash or dispute resolution.
  • Manages, trains, mentors team in all aspects of their job and supervises/sets their daily work schedule.
  • Builds collection strategies and campaigns.
  • Responsible for ensuring that team meets all company deadlines, service level agreements and goals.
  • Manages/Visits National/Independent relationships and accounts.
  • Performs cash application adjustments.
  • Manages customer write offs.
  • Knowledge in and ability to assist with all areas of the Commercial Credit team including but not limited to Cash Applications, Collections, Customer Support, Billing and Operations.
  • Maintain team’s compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations.

  • Understanding of proper collection techniques/Phone etiquette.
  • Basic typing skills.
  • EDI Knowledge
  • Knowledge of billing/ promotional programs
  • Knowledge of ticketing systems
  • Customer service and/or communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with our customers
  • Working knowledge of Credit/Cash/Collections in the Americas
  • Oracle, PeopleSoft/ERP preferred
  • Must possess excellent organizational, planning and leadership skills.
  • Must have highly developed interpersonal skills and an ability to solve problems.
  • Must be results/goal driven.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products.
  • Must be able to think of creative ideas for improving the process using the financial system provided.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 10 years of Experience in a Cash Application/Customer Service/Collections /Billing/Call Center environment (National Account management experience preferred; Bilingual a plus);
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has ultimate management responsibility for a team of up to 25, either through direct reporting or second-level reporting
