The Commercial eCommerce Analyst is responsible for the tactical operations with ecommerce, analysis and active participation in the support of all commercial ecommerce programs.

Under general direction, implements system solutions across multiple departments and serves in key technical roles.  Position conducts and analyzes business operations to understand strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions. 

Identifies and documents high level business requirements into functional specifications for the multiple products managed and manages changes to such specifications. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for operational execution and support of various eCommerce programs and services, including but not limited to: data entry, customer management, account creation, customer service and support, second and third level support, vendor management.   

Participates in direct commercial customer and store teammate interactions, both in the field and through support and operations interactions as well as remote interactions.

Reviews and evaluates business development opportunities via Shop Management System(SMS) offerings to customers, providing documented feedback to SMS partners of technology and functional improvements required to maintain quality brand products. 

Provides the highest level of customer service by resolving customer technical issues and billing or finance questions and providing education and/or training.

Execute and often develop operations analysis that is actionable and provides insight to drive operational performance

Provide forecasts based on historical and current data trends.  Explain any anomalies and trend shifts

Elicit, analyze, validate and interpret data.

Write reports and present results based on research, providing guidance and recommendations to the Commercial Operations team.

An analyst must ensure that the material being presented is accurate and complete.

Support Commercial Operations team through analytics and reporting

Help support and measure key POCs and future business models with analytics and insights

Compile and hold key competitive intelligence

Overnight travel may be required.

  • Experience/Training in the operations or support of eCommerce online systems
  • Experience with Shop Management System software, or ability to achieve advanced knowledge within six months of date of hire.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to understand statistical and analytical concepts as well as communicate them to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to cultivate relationships with key stakeholders across functions
  • Ability to assess risks and keep abreast of new policies, procedures or processes that may affect the data
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software required as is the ability to quickly learn and use job specific computer programs such as Hyperion Financial, SPSS, Business Objects, Answers, MapInfo/MapPoint, Access and AS400.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, gross margin, balance of sales and percentages.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry and statistics.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Must demonstrate business acumen in understanding and applying corporate and category goals, strategies and initiatives.
  • Ability to achieve basic user and advanced user certifications on business intelligence software within 12 months of hire date.


Bachelor-s degree in Finance, Statistics, or a related business field preferred; and 1-3 years related professional experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
