The Data Analyst Lead will provide support for the current operating model, as well as support for new initiatives within a constantly evolving business environment.  The Analyst is responsible for assisting with the support and business requirements of the Merchandising and Inventory Team; including ensuring integrity of data within the applications through governance of system inputs, and the coordination, development and management of various systems/processes for forecasting and planning and analysis. The Analyst will be an integral part of the Company’s strategic initiatives by creating value through actionable business insight delivered through reporting and ad-hoc analysis tools.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Reporting and Analysis is 40% of this role
Partner with IOM teams to develop and drive strategies to improve inventory quality
Partner with IT management team to translate business requirements into technical requirements for implementation of reporting and ad-hoc analysis tools
Develop relationships with Merchant and Inventory Teams through active involvement in business decisions
Provide variance and root cause driver analysis to support decision-making and analysis to support the goals of the merchandising teams
Reporting, Analysis, Scorecard and Presentation Development is 35% of this role
Partner with leadership to prepare various projects, reports, analysis, presentations, and scorecards
Partner with the business team members to develop performance management activities
Partner with Merchandising Team to both develop and conduct user training for the use of Business Intelligence systems, financial concepts and performance metrics
Develop business requirements for Best in Class balanced reporting and ad-hoc analysis tools, which include metrics and drivers used to understand business results and meet both financial and business commitments as defined by leadership
Produce daily/weekly and monthly/quarterly reporting packages for senior leadership
Business Process Development and Enhancement and Project Management is 25% of the role
Lead user acceptance testing during implementation of system enhancements and implementation of new systems and/or system capabilities
Support system activities including, but not limited to, end user support, data validation and reconciliation
Lead medium to large cross-functional and cross-departmental projects with high complexity and cross-system impacts
Lead system enhancement process to support planning and assortment rationalization processes
Participate in development and implementation of Data Governance processes
Effectively communicate and translate results into business insights and actions
Identify and establish metrics and drivers to help leaders understand business results and meet both financial and business commitments

 

Job Requirements

Strong analytical skills required
Advanced use of Excel, PowerPoint and Access
Experience with metrics-based analytics, basic understanding of SQL and relational databases
Experience with JDA Replenishment Systems and CMS Core Merchandising System; knowledge of general replenishment and merchandising systems
Data warehouse data mining experience
Familiar with P&L reporting and metrics-based reports
End-to-end understanding of merchandise planning and replenishment, merchandising, business, and supply chain processes
Ability to cultivate relationships with key stakeholders across functions in order to achieve business objectives and drive strategic change
Project management/process improvement experience
Experience working in retail industry 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, or business; and 3-5 years experience in the areas of budgeting, forecasting, reporting, finance or business analysis; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
