Job Description

Director of Store Systems is responsible for support and ongoing enhancement of Advance Auto Parts store systems environments serving both retail and professional customers.

Responsibilities will include: engaging with field team members and customers to evaluate line of business needs in store selling systems, developing a technology improvement roadmap to fulfill those needs along with key performance metrics and return on investment targets for roadmap releases, partnering with Information Technology counterparts to drive execution of the roadmap, and monitoring and measuring the results of that execution against the defined KPIs, The environment will include the POS system, mobile devices, kiosks, credit and debit services, store pricing and technical promotion support in both corporate and independent store partner locations.

The Director will leverage internal resources as well as external service providers to provide unparalleled support for retail stores and independent retail locations. The role will work closely with business partners and key customers to design and deliver solutions that enable and drive the store business in both corporate and independent locations.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Solid background in retail, understand enterprise store systems, experience working with vendors, and extensive project management experience.
  • Strong communication, management and team building skills.
  • Be a trusted advisor with Business Partners and key customers to ensure alignment on priority and timing of deliverables driving business objectives.
  • Assist with scope and design of Store System projects
  • Advise Information Technology partners on execution and support
  • Provide management and leadership to team members and peers through relationship building and ongoing coaching.
  • Effectively manage relationships with external vendors and form new partnerships when appropriate.
  • Assume accountability for delivering solutions that meet field team and customer needs

Additional duties as assigned

  • Responsible for supervising a team of employees.
  • Responsible for supervising multiple retail projects.
  • 10+ years’ experience preferably in the retail environment (retail application, POS, Mobile, Sales Audit, etc.)
  • 5+ years in a leadership role
  • High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
  •  Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
