SUMMARY

Provides decision support and analysis for performance based compensation & incentives by collecting, analyzing and interpreting data as well as forecasting incentive driven trends to support the overall strategic and operating plans of Advance Auto Parts.  This position must provide superior customer service by partnering with the business and Human Resources and translating financial analysis and results from plan pilots into actionable insights. This position will work closely with HR Compensation & Benefits in consolidating and managing Performance Based Incentives.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Oversee the company’s Performance & Incentive plan designs, pilots & roll-outs and be a subject matter expert in this area.
  • Provide analysis & reporting of Incentive plan performance against Targets as well as analyzing trends against key performance metrics and draw insights that lead to action.
  • Simplify and streamline matrix used for measurements and create dashboards that allow for frequent and automated measurability.
  • Prepare forecasting, review and analysis for Incentive based plan pilots, including tracking of benefits and costs.
  • Participate in the development of long-range incentive driven forecasts and related costs, considering alternative scenarios and economic prospects as appropriate, as well as defining Risks and Opportunities.
  • Provide fact-based financial analysis, economic modeling and ad-hoc analysis in support of business cases.
  • Maintain knowledge and stay abreast of developments in the fields of industrial technology, business, finance, and economic theory.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Be able to work independently with limited guidance while relying on experience & judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Advanced level Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access PC skills a must.
  • Familiarity with Oracle, Peoplesoft, Smartview a plus.
  • Exposure to HR Compensation and Benefits including Performance/Incentive based management a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, including ability to influence others and establish relationships cross functionally.
  • Ability to present & respond to questions from senior management, functional leaders, HR leaders, etc.
  • Experience working in retail environment preferred.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting/Finance/Business from an accredited four year college or university is required.
  • Five to seven years of financial and business analysis experience including experience working with Performance and/or Incentive Based Compensation or HR Compensation and Benefits.
  • Advanced level Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access PC skills a must.
  • Familiarity with AS400, PeopleSoft, Hyperion and some basic programming a plus.
