SUMMARY

The Technical Financial Systems Manager is responsible for the technology infrastructure that supports the planning, consolidations, and analytics process for the overall company. This role will encompass the initial architecture design, development configuration deployment of the applications, meta data hierarchy design, integrations with the broader technology ecosystem, and the general technology processes to ensure the applications are properly supporting the various business processes, calendar, and user base.

This is a highly visible position as it will liaison with the broader Finance community, IT teams, and executive staff. The successful candidate will be proficient in an array of Oracle Hyperion technologies as well as other technological skills that enable the successful integration, stability, and automation of the environment. This position has the potential to significantly influence the direction of the company and the financial performance by providing a deeper level of analytical capabilities to the broader finance community.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assess the current planning, consolidations, and analytical infrastructure and processes to make recommendations for areas of improvement (Technology and process)

Co-lead the design and architecture of the new Hyperion Cloud Planning, Enterprise Planning, and Consolidations applications.

Code Configure Develop Deploy the new applications for use in Advance Auto Parts environment

Establish the appropriate hierarchy, metadata structure, and business rules to support Advance Auto Parts specific business processes, information sets, and business processes

Be responsible for the broader environments integrity as it relates to reliability and availability of the applications (security, uptime, maintenance processes, etc.) Work with the user community to train, develop, and enhance their analytical capabilities

Automate integrations between data sources and processes to expedite availability of information, consistency in results, and minimize the cost structure to support the environment

Develop a standardized set of dashboards accessible via the network and mobile devices

Develop and Automate the delivery of standardized reporting to be used in Executive level presentations or distributed via email mobile to end users

Partner with the leadership team and the broader finance business community to stay abreast of current business concerns, potential opportunities, and information needs

Contribute to the broader financial Enterprise tools roadmap in partnership with Finance IT leadership

Maintain knowledge and stays current of developments in the fields of technology, business intelligence, data warehousing, data science, and emerging technologies (machine learning, AI, etc.)

Career Requirements

Experience with multiple technologies and discernment of which to apply in different environments and use cases is necessary.

Deep developer Administrator expertise in Oracle Hyperion Technologies (Hyperion Planning, Consolidations, Essbase, Reports, Smartview, FDMEE, etc.

Ability to extract, integrate, and automate data flows and process leveraging technologies such as (C, SQL, ODBC, ETL Tools, MaxL, etc).

Familiarity with multiple operating Systems (Windows, UNIX, Solaris, etc) and reporting analytical apps such as (Oracle BI, Power BI, Tableau, Essabase, Smartview) Familiarity with AI type concepts, visualization techniques, etc. a plus

Ability to define problems, collect data, perform analysis, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of senior management, department heads, and the Finance IT Business teams

Attention to quality, reconciliation, and accuracy are critical as the audience is often executive level staff and the decisions being made are significant in scope impact

Creativity and vision to recommend ways to evolve our infrastructure, process, and analytic capabilities

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Either a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, Bus Analytics or related required (with a 2nd degree in Business or Mathematics a plus); or a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or Accounting (with a secondary degree in Comp Sci, MIS, Bus Analytics, etc. a plus) and strong track record of leveraging technology and programming capabilities; and

8-10+ years of financial / data / business analysis experience; or

Equivalent combination of education and experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct supervision of a staff of 3 Analyst / Sr. Analysts
