The FP&A Technical Analyst provides analytics and decision support at a corporate level supporting the executive staff, field leadership as well as the broader finance community.  This role specifically will be supporting the field leadership and field finance decision support teams for financial performance reporting and analytical support. The Technical Analyst will be on a team responsible for a shared reporting & analytics infrastructure as well as directly providing reporting, analysis, and insight to the executive teams based on that infrastructure. 

The successful candidate will be able to leverage a variety of tools & analytical capabilities to support analysis for the field and demonstrate their impacts to overall company financial performance.  The candidate will need to gather/develop the required datasets, apply a variety of techniques to analyze/test business hypotheses, and then summarize back the findings (with clear data/method driven substantiation).  This position is in the Corporate Financial Intelligence team and has the potential to significantly influence the direction of the company and the financial performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Partner with the Field Leadership and field finance decision support teams to stay abreast of current business concerns, potential opportunities, and information needs

Access and Integrate information/data from a variety of sources for analytics and reporting

Design methodologies to understand and forecast key aspects of financial/operational performance

Employ a variety of analytical techniques to discover, identify, and conclude ad-hoc analysis both reactively to leadership requests and proactively as opportunities are identified

Develop and automate the delivery of analytical methods and standardized reporting to be used throughout the entire field organization

Contribute to the broader financial/Enterprise tools roadmap in partnership with Finance/IT leadership

Define and document core business metrics, definitions, and logic collaborating with the business teams

Deliver analysis and findings to leadership and business teams…often through formal presentation

Maintain knowledge and stays current of developments in the fields of technology, business intelligence, data warehousing, data science, and emerging technologies (machine learning, AI, etc.)

Technical Qualifications: Experience with multiple analytical tools and methodologies, as well as the discernment of which to apply in different environments and use cases is necessary.

  • Familiarity with reporting / analytical apps such as (Oracle BI, Power BI, Tableau, SAS etc.)
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with leadership in order to collect, interpret and organize inputs from business partners and formulate into requirements and project documentation
  • Ability to work with data utilizing technologies such as (SQL, Access, Oracle, R, Python, VBA). 
  • Ability to apply analytical methodologies (Statistical Modeling, Financial Analysis, Market/Competitive Research)

Ability to define problems, collect data, perform analysis, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Exposure to machine learning and AI type concepts is a plus

Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of senior management, department heads, and the Finance/IT/Business teams

Attention to quality, reconciliation, and accuracy are critical as the audience is often executive level staff and the decisions being made are significant in scope/impact

Creativity and vision to recommend ways to evolve our infrastructure, process, and analytic capabilities


Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics or related required (Masters in Analytics, Business, or Mathematics a plus); and

2-5 years of systems / business analysis / performance reporting experience; or

Equivalent combination of education and experience.


Mentoring and collaborating with other Analysts within the broader organization
