HR Generalist

Under the direction of the Area HR Manager, this position is responsible for providing human resources support to the Flower Mound DC teammates.

Essential Duties:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for all HR related questions from DC supervisors and teammates.
  • Partner with DC Director and supervisors, attend weekly DC management meetings to address employee relations issues, conduct investigations when necessary, review and complete warnings when necessary.
  • Enforces all company policies
  • Partners with Recruiting and temp agency representatives to coordinate temp-to-perm teammate conversion, handles I-9 completion, assists teammates with payroll, time off, and benefit related questions
  • Completes special projects and additional duties as assigned.
  • Meet with HRM weekly to discuss Special Projects, FMLA, Workman’s Comp, Etc.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor Degree in HR or related field.
  • Desire to grow in HR field
  • 5 years HR experience in a generalist capacity.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software required
  • Prior experience using Kronos or another time keeping system highly desirable

  • Attention to detail, able to multitask and work in a fast paced environment.
  • Professional demeanor with excellent communication skills (verbal, written)
  • Able to communicate with all levels of teammates and managers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Additional Duties

  • Badge printing for DC teammates
  • Review and approve counselings/write ups for Dallas, TX DC
  • Party and event planning
  • Create seasonal safety posters
  • Conduct orientation
  • DC teammate recruiting metrics – compile and distribute list of newly hired teammates
  • Partner with DC Director/managers to administer and comply with all DC workers comp cases, communicate with Corporate Workers Comp Manager and Area HRM as needed
  • Run attendance and punctuality reports (monthly and mid monthly)
  • Issue attendance counselings
  • Assist Area HRM with DC related investigations
  • Conduct pulse surveys as needed
  • I-9 compliance:  assist managers with completion of new hire I-9s and re-verification cases, inform teammates of re-verification and ramifications if re-verification is not completed in a timely manner
  • Serve as system administrator for performance management system – update workflow approval chains, add new branches as needed
  • Assist field branches with general questions in absence of Area HRM
  • Ensures smooth processing of newly hired DC teammates by partnering with AAP shared services re: unprocessed hours, holiday pay, etc
  • Exit interviews for voluntary teammate resignations
  • Escalate complex employee relations issues to Area HRM
  • Partner with AAP FMLA to track and ensure compliance for active cases, notify Area HRM of teammates not returned from FMLA for ADA compliance
  • Open enrollment – guide each teammate through enrollment process, explain benefits as necessary
