SUMMARY

The Investor Relations Associate is the first point of contact for equity research analysts (sell-side), portfolio managers, institutional investors (buy-side), and other investors for Advance Auto Parts. The IR Associate reports to and provides experienced administrative, project management and event support to the Vice President, Investor Relations. Often self-directed, the role requires an experienced and confident professional, who can work with people at all levels internally and externally. A highly visible role, this person is an articulate and persuasive communicator dealing with confidential information and demanding constituencies. The position works closely with other departments and outside shareholders and vendors.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist with producing materials for quarterly earnings reporting, investor conferences, non-deal roadshows, property tours and other investor/analyst events, including producing and updating investor profiles, as needed
  • Provide best-in-class service in the management of inbound investor and analyst requests and coordinate timely responses with multiple internal departments
  • Assist in the tracking and analysis of sell-side research on company, peers and industry to assess trends, client demographics, and historical account information
  • Produce and distribute daily and weekly reports on recent sell-side research to senior management
  • Manage and maintain customer relationship management (“CRM”) system, and master Investor Relations calendar, with all Investor Relations activities, including meetings, calls, marketing trips and conferences with the investment community, in order to compile standardized quarterly reports, communications, and respond to ad hoc requests
  • Coordinate webcasting and logistics for quarterly and annual earnings calls through appropriate vendor(s) (Nasdaq) and coordinate with AAP’s Corporate Communications, website team and IT support staff
  • Provide organizational, contract, logistical and administrative support for all investor / analyst meetings, IR-related meetings and conferences, including coordination of Non-Deal Road Shows and facility tours
  • Prepare board presentations together with the VP, Investor Relations on topics including peer financial results, stock price performance, industry benchmarking, changes to investor base, and corporate access
  • Maintain current contact list for the investment community
  • Manage the Annual Report and Proxy printing and distribution process, including vendor management and communications
  • Maintain and update the investor relations section of the Company’s website
  • Assist with the management of external relationships including the NYSE, designated market makers, stock surveillance and other firms, including purchase orders and vendor payment processing
  • Serve as a cross-functional partner for our FP&A, accounting and investor relations team on various projects and analyses
  • Complete special projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High level of proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Experience working in Investor Relations during a time of a successful company transformation is a plus

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Associate degree, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of combined experience in investor relations, finance, FP&A, or executive support role
