SUMMARY

Distribution Center Maintenance III represents the Distribution Center Maintenance Manager if not on site. Assist the Maintenance Manager in mentoring the Maintenance Team Members in all aspects of maintenance and for the next level in their career. Perform inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs on facility equipment such as but not limited to gear reducers, electric motors, conveying systems, forklift and other functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Perform all levels of technical repairs on equipment and machinery

Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers, lights, outlets, circuit breakers, and wiring, also electrical and electronic components of equipment

Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager on daily workload

Disassemble, assemble, install and maintain pipe systems, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment

Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment

Inspect and test machinery and equipment

Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance of equipment, machinery, electrical systems and structures using blueprints, diagrams, manuals and written instructions while adhering to all safety guidelines to ensure efficient operations

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair malfunctions of equipment and machinery promptly

Construct and install or repair equipment in accordance with manufactures guidelines and repair manual

Repair and maintain the physical structure of the facility

Install or repair automated machinery, equipment such as sortation systems and troubleshoot programmable controllers

Discuss machine operation variations with Managers, Team Managers, and other Team Members to diagnose problems and machine repairs

Ensures all hazardous material in the Maintenance Department is stored in a flammable storage cabinet at the end of each shift or when not in use

Organize, assign and follow-up on maintenance repairs, work orders, projects and other maintenance task as directed by the Maintenance Manager

Work with vendors and contractors as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess or pass the Basic Mechanical, Industrial Mechanical, Industrial Electrical, Industrial Controls, Hydraulic/Pneumatic and Cutting/Welding Skill Assessment

General knowledge of all shop equipment, test equipment, and hand/power tools, conveyor systems, material handling equipment, building, HVAC, lighting, electrical, and all other related equipment and structures, security controls and fire protection systems

Good communication and writing skills

General administrative, organizational, managerial and communication skills

Ability to use hand, power tools and shop equipment

Ability to read and interpret Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)

Ability to follow all Company, State and Federal safety rules and regulations and wear safety personal protective equipment when required

Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word documents

Ability use computer maintenance managing software to procure parts, generate and update work orders

Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and procedures including best safety practices

Strong administrative, organizational, managerial and communication skills

Good analytical ability to gather and interpret information and develop, recommend, and implement solutions

Knowledge of and skilled in blue print and schematic reading

Work various shifts, departments and locations, as required

Overtime as required

Weekends as required

Holiday’s as required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent required; two to four years related experience and/or training; Minimum two years maintenance experience in a distribution center; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Post hire certifications may be required to comply with safety standards as mandated by law to operate machinery or equipment.
