This position is to support the Advance Auto Parts (AAP) Enterprise Data Management activities specific to the Master Data Management, The Master Data Management Technical Lead shall serve as a strong Technical resource in providing technical guidance and impose the industry best practices within the team.  The ideal candidate is expected to be proficient in the Trust framework with multiple project execution experience in implementing Customer Data Integration (CDI), Vendors, Products, and strong exposure to the Product Information Management (PIM) solution would be preferable. 


The candidate should have a strong analytical and problem solving skills, team player, ability to multi-task, quick self-learner, and highly motivated to analyze the data issues and articulate the business impact.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned.

  • Evaluate and drive data management processes (i.e., define best practices and processes to support efficiencies within product data management)
  • Support the technical team in drafting the technical requirement and  design document , and develop the solution to create a single source of truth via the MDM solutions
  • Accountable for code quality, development of reusable components, product performance and adherence to best practices
  • Lead the effort to fix bugs in all the test cycles and post production. Accountable for smooth implementation in the all environments.
  • Communicate the technical dependencies to the concerned teams and establish coordination for seamless implementation of the individual components.
  • Lead and manage the team on the MDM specific activities such as define the Cleanse rules, Survivorship, Match Rules, etc.,
  • Collaborate with various technical teams and business users for Development, QA, and Production Support for the MDM platform
  • Manage data migration requirements and processes.
  • Coordinate the procedures and program development of technical resources or vendors who support the systems used to manage data
  • Work very closely with other IT support folks in design, development, and support.
  • Provide thought leadership and direction to the tech leads and developers
  • Performs all other duties and special assignments as assigned.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.  Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Strong analytical skills required. Ability to develop and communicate proper data procedures internal and external to the team. 
  • Part of the design/architecture team and implemented end-to-end MDM solution
  • Hands on experience in the MDM Hub Configuration – Data Model, Configuration, Mappings, Validation rules, Cleanse rules, Survivorship, Match rules, Rules tuning, etc.,
  • Very proficient in the development of automated ETL processes to ingest the data into MDM
  • Strong experience in building best practices, reusable components and solution accelerators for the organization.
  • Strong in RDMBS concepts and expert in SQL
  • Working knowledge on the RESTful Web services is a must
  • Exposure to Amazon Web Services (AWS) OR Azure tools and capabilities is good to have
  • Working knowledge on the workflow management and data quality tool is a plus
  • Ability to travel as necessary to meet organizational and administrative demands (up to 30% of the time)

 EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelors or higher degree preferred in Engineering, Information Systems, Marketing, Finance, Communications, Statistics, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in data management
  • Minimum 2 years on Master Data Management (Either Reltio or Informatica Multi Domain MDM preferred)
  • 3+ years of RDBMS experience and very strong in SQL
  • A working knowledge of CSV, Text Files, XMLPath, JSON structures is must
  • Exposure to the ETL tools such as Data Stage, Power Center is good to have
  • Exposure to the Data Quality tools such as IDQ, IBM Information Analyzer is good to have
  • Exposure to data governance platform (Informatica, Collibra, etc.) is good to have
  • Exposure to the Data Governance Tool such as Collibra, Informatica EDC is good to have

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position directly supervises AAP employees and vendors.
