The Product Owner of the DieHard program needs to be a brand ambassador as well as responsible for overseeing simultaneous projects required for the development of the DieHard brand across both existing and new categories.  The Product Owner is responsible for identifying the individual projects and programs needed to support the overall DieHard program and assigning the appropriate resources needed for management and completion of each project.  The Product Owner supports the SVP, General Manager DieHard, and manages the overall timeline, risk management, communication, internal/external interdependencies, IT requirements, supply agreements, marketing deals, brand governance and execution of the transition plan.  The Product Owner operates with minimal supervision and has demonstrated the cultural beliefs of Take Action, Be Accountable and Speak Up in previous roles.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Proven ability to plan projects among different groups and levels of the organization
  • Capability to manage multiple initiatives with different levels of complexity and dependencies
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large, complex change efforts and to drive results through the creative use of facts and quantitative data, as well as influence, persuasion and relationship management
  • Work closely with IT teams in determining requirements for overall program success
  • Assesses quickly with a track record of getting up to speed and adding immediate value to new situations
  • Strong project management skills and demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed organization
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, capable of managing end-to-end, complex, large-scale products, including those which may subdivide into smaller individual products or projects.
  • Be a leader and brand ambassador for the DieHard brand 
  • Oversee project teams and facilitate the communication and interaction amongst Project Managers, Program Managers and Senior Leadership
  • Manage brand scope and objectives, ensure adherence to quality standards and oversee project deliverables
  • Identify appropriate resource needs, work with the Executive Team to get resource commitments and make recommendations in sourcing strategy
  • Create and manage overall roadmap.
  • Manage risk identification and develop risk management plans.  Perform issue management as required
  • Manage scope and cost and ensure financial forecast is created and maintained throughout the roadmap execution
  • Prepare materials for and present to Executive, Board-level management and the full organization (Quarterly Town Hall, etc.), providing status updates and overall program updates
  • Lead program meetings and prepare and present status reports on a regular basis
  • Build and oversee change management plans
  • Manage financial KPIs to track financial performance relative to expectations
  • Consistently demonstrate AAP cultural beliefs and leadership competencies

  • Advanced skill in MS Office Professional Series (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Project, Visio and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of project management tools, methods and best practices as defined by the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
  • Solid understanding of business mathematics and basic project accounting principles.
  • Proven experience handling multiple assignments and using strong prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work in high-expectation situations providing leadership and collaboration to deliver solutions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate to Executive and Board-level management.
  • A wide variety and degree of creativity and latitude is expected.  The Product Owner will be expected to work with minimal supervision.
  • Advanced critical thinking and negotiation skills with the ability to make recommendations.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information across all levels of the organization; and cultivate relationships with internal and external customers to achieve business objectives.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Familiar with a variety of business related concepts, practices and procedures.


  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • This position directly or indirectly supervises at least one project team.
