The Project Manager is responsible for developing, analyzing, planning, and implementing supply chain solutions with the goal of improving efficiencies and reducing costs. Directs, plans, and manages distribution projects to ensure that project goals are accomplished within prescribed time frames and budgets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Develop and manage initiatives to drive improvements and move to world class operations within the supply chain. Plan project proposals to determine time frame, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project. Perform return on investment (ROI) analysis to determine viability and priority of pending supply chain projects. Recommend capital expenditures for acquisition of new equipment. Lead project teams and manage work plans for each phase of the project including scope, schedule, risk management, and budget management. Provide direction for project personnel to ensure the project progresses on schedule and within the prescribed budget. Confer and cooperate with all levels of operating management in formulating and developing detailed implementation plans for cost improvement projects. Responsible for on-going project status and risk management. Prepare project reports for management, clients, or others. Work with all distribution locations, cross functional teams and vendors to ensure process changes are successfully implemented. Manage project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve issues and problems. Submit recommendations for development of and compliance with logistics policies, procedures, and programs. Direct compilation and issuance of project timetables. Conduct field surveys to evaluate operations and recommend changes. Work with Distribution facilities and facilities management to define best practices. Prepare recommendations for senior management evaluation. Prepare documentation, including SOP development modification for assigned projects.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Effective communicator and ability to manage through influence. Proven ability to manage complex projects on time and budget. Strong team builder in working cross functionally. Lean Six sigma experience a plus. PMI certifications a plus. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Frequent overnight travel required (30-50%) depending on project phase and scope. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, business or another related area; 8 years field experience or project management experience successfully implementing several $5M+ projects; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
