Job Title: Switcher/Yard Jockey
Reports To: Department Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
LOCATION:  Gastonia, NC

SUMMARY Drives a box truck over an established route to deliver products or switches trucks at DC.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Switcher
Maintain worksheetyard check of where specific trailers are needed in specific doors.
Coordinate movement of trailers to specific doors and locations on the yard via switch engine.
Communicate with dispatchers, loading dock supervisors and management staff of trailers on the yard.
Make local runs to other officesstores using tractor and trailer. 
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, andor ability required. Must be able to perform w a minimum of supervision. Must maintain a neat, professional appearance. Must be able to lift 50 - 70 lbs. on a routine basis. Job involves repetitive bending, stooping, pushing and pulling. Consistent, reliable attendance. Must be at least 21 years of age.

EDUCATION andor EXPERIENCE Delivery van driver. Operation of hand truck, pallet jack, forklift (if certified).
